The main focus of the PGD programme is oriented on 'learning by doing'. You will be able to develop and broaden your skills in evaluating and designing Internet-based activities for foreign and second language teaching. The focus of the essay assignment is a different one. It will give you the opportunity to dive into what others have written about a particular topic. You will acquire and deepen your background knowledge of using the Internet for FLT or SLT by critically reviewing written resources. You will be asked to connect theoretical concepts to the practice of teaching, thus bridging the gap between what you find in the literature and what is actually done in the classroom. And last but not least, this assignment will give the tutors the opportunity to assess your understanding of recent literature on the topic.
